The Institute of Education Onkarmal Somani College of Education started in the year 1955, is the second oldest college in the University of Mysore. It has the privilege of taking shelter under the umbrella of most reputed Trust The Institute of Education Trust (R). The trust was established for the cause of serving the most needy students from poor & socially deprived community.
The Institute of Education Onkarmal Somani College of Education has to its credit a feather of having more number of doctorate holders who are seniors with unbeatable rich teaching experience.
The college strives always to go beyond the curriculum. The various methodology department facilitate this purpose through their respective club activities. Our College is always in the preferred list of students aspiring to do B.Ed. This is truly because of our pro-active management who instills enthusiasm in the staff. We indeed are blessed with teaching as well as non-teaching staff who are truly professional.
